Mariposa Mini Album

Hi All

Here are some photos of a mini album that I made following a tutorial on youtube.  I followed xannero1's graphic 45 tutorial just used different paper.  It's not exactly the same and I put my own stamp on it but  have leaned some new techniques that I can take onto future albums.  I also learned some short cuts for envelopes and tags and nice neat foldouts with pockets.  You should go check her out and have a look she is amazing.

Here is the first page and it opens out to reveal pockets and tags and a flip up.

Here is my favourite page assembly.  There's a pocket all around the page and the top flips up but the flip up has 2 flip out pages - it's fantastic, and not too complicated.  I made my own teeny paper bag and a small-ish envelope and a fold out like a purse.  The papers are fantastic and so sturdy.

This is a busy page with pull out tags and pockets and plenty of room for photographs and journal spots.  Using the black card went well but whoever gets this album might want to invest in a white gel pen to journal on the black card.

This is the back cover.  I made a 3 ring binder cover from chipboard and covered it with the patterned paper.  The 3 rings were better than if I had used 2.  It looks to be holding it's own with the eyelets and I really hope that it all stays together.  People have been looking through it and it's not torn yet.

I have just finished my teeny minis for a swap at Mini Album Scraps.  It will be my first swap with this ning site so I have my fingers crossed that it will go smoothly.  They don't have to be sent until June but I am getting them sent off early next week so I know they have got there in time.

I have joined a think and chunky 6x6 mini album on My Scrap room and  will be starting that this week.  I also need to buy a children's book to alter somehow.  I will get out tomorrow and have a look see what I can find.  Fingers crossed I can find something interesting to alter.

I had better stop typing now.  Love to Al

Spring Paper Bag Mini for Jamie Morgan

Hi All

I made it to the post office yesterday and posted the last 3 packages that needed to go.  I posted a mini that I made for A Lil Scrap Of Heaven.  It is a spring mini and made for Jamie (lovelymomn3).  I followed a tutorial from Youtube made by charliejones2686.  Hers was a Christmas mini but I just changed the theme and made it flowery.

Here are some pictures....................

These are the charms down the spine.  I used Tim Holtz Grunge Paper for the spine and sprayed it gold then sealed in the gold with a layer of Crafters Companion Spray n Sparkle.

This is the front cover.  Mum made that purple and green flower in the middle of all the paper ones.  She made it out of material and sewed it together.

This is a birds eye view of the mini.  I had fun making it and all the pages are different and have pockets and flip downs and flip ups.  The paper bags were green and blended really well with the paper line that I used which is Susan Winget Speciality paper.  I think it turned out really unique.

This is a page full of tags.  It has turned out sideways, lol.

This is a flip up page.

I hope that everyone is well.

After dinner Mini's.........

Hi All
I have finished my dinner and now I am officially stuffed.  And a little squiffy because I had a glass of red wine.  Hopefully the pictures and word will make sense.

I joined a swap on the scrap beach called 'itsy mini swap' and you have to make 2 minis, small no smaller than 2 inches and no larger than 4 inches.  I made 2 and here are the pictures.......

This is number 2.........

They were so quick and simple to make.  I am running out of book binding rings now though. I have made myself one but don't have pictures of it yet.  I will get round to it.  It's all purple of course.

The lady that is running the swap is from Ireland and I jumped in to do an angel mini for her last swap.  I also made her a mini and here it is................

I have just done my first Skype.  I have been talking to my Dads cousins and their children in Canada.  I wish I could visit more often but flights are expensive.  It's amazing that you can see someone over 4 thousand miles away.

I made an angel mini for someone in America that got flaked on for the February paper bag mini album swap and I titled it Wings of Love and made a stack the deck fold back paper bag mini for her and sent her a matchbox box as well but I forgot to take a picture of it.  It was a double decker one.

Here is a picture of the mini.............

I had better stop now and pack up the spring mini and the altered paper clip.  I may do a few more paper clips if I can find any more.  I hope that all is well with you and I will return soon with more creations.

Love to All

More project pictures

Hi All

Here are some more photos of things that I have been creating recently.

These are Spring Mini Albums that I made for a swap on My Scraproom.  I had Sonya as a partner but then one swapper vanished so I offered to be an angel and got LaDonna as a partner as well.  Here are pictures of the albums that I made - Sonya's is first.......

I tried to make a nest for the chicks and it just turned out to be a box but I really got creative with the front cover. Here is a look at the inside pages.

This is the back of the front page.  I tried to get as many pockets and tags in as I could as the mini is small.  It had to be less than 5 inches squared for the pages.  the cover was 5x5 and the inside pages are 4x4.

This is the mini I made for LaDonna...........

These are the front and back covers.  I got the bird cages from my friend Kellie in America.  I inked them and stickled them and then covered the backs so they can be used for tags and then I stuck bits all over them.  I made the pockets from acetate and used some stud eyelets to secure the acetate pockets to the pages.

Here is a peek at the inside pages..............

This is sideways but it's one of the pages with a photo mat and a place for a title.  I really hope that girls like their minis.

I joined a swap on Your Paper Pantry and it was a Contained Mini.  I had to make a mini and contain it in some sort of box or cage or purse etc.  I had Tmika for my partner and she lives in America.  she loves shabby chic stuff so I looked at her youtube channel and got an idea of what she wanted.  She didn't like the idea of a paper bag album and wanted chipboard.  Here are some pictures of what I came up with................

Tmika wanted a book to put inspiration in so I titled it Inspiration.  there's flowers and lace and bling on the cover and it continues throughout the book.  Everything is interactive and there's tags galore along with lace and buttons and bling and flowers and charms and dangles and trim.  It's a shabby chic explosion.  Here are some more pages......

It got really big and you can tell from the view of the bottom of the mini.  I had to make some sort of container but it got so big I had to cover an entire shoe box with paper and lace and pretty stuff.  Here is the lid..............

The box was 7 inches by 11 inches and the depth was 5inches.  I had to send it in the biggest packing box I could find and it cost me £22 to send it airmail.  It was so heavy too.  I had a lot of fun making the mini as Shabby Chic isn't really my thing and chipboard albums can be tricky but I think I did pretty well.

Today is Sunday and I was fiddling around with a large clip that I have had for ages.  I saw a video on youtube once and for the life of me I can't find it again but it had an altered clip on it and I just jumped in and made it prettyfull...................

I thought it looked pretty good.  I have made some more things but I will have to stop typing now as dinner is ready.

A mini for my friend Angie.....

Hi All

Here are some pictures of a mini that I made for my friend Angie.  I made it out of white paper bags and the Susan Winget Speciality Botanical Paper.

I used Lauras stack the deck binding and her fold back paper bag.  I love the way its turned out.

I inked all the edges of the paper bags with whispers rio purple ink.  It took forever but looks really good now it's all done.

This is the stack the deck binding and my magic glue.  I love my paper clips as well, they are shiny and silver!

This is one of the pages with all the paper elements applied.

This is the book all put together with the covers put on.  I spray painted tim holtz grungepaper antique gold and then went over it with crafters companion spray and sparkle to seal it.  It looks great as the binding on the album.

This is a completed page.

This is the front almost all done.  It needs something more but I am undecided at what.

These are a couple of the tags I cut myself and hand stamped and inked.  There are 24 tags in all!

I think I am happy with this mini now.  It just needs one more thing on he front of the album and it will be finished.  I just need to figure that one out.

Long time no blog..............

Hi All

I know I haven't been here in ages but I am back now.  I have had a rubbish time over Christmas and met several new friends in the new year through work.  I lost my mojo for a time but it's back with force.  I am feeling much better in myself and have so much to show you.

Here is my first swap mini of 2012 - a 4" round album with a Spring theme......

I went a bit mad and made my own circles and I had 10 cut before I knew it so I had to use them all.  I made pockets and little fold outs.  You can see the whole album on my profile at myscraproom.ning.com. If you want details send me a private message.

This next project was an angel mini that I made for someone that has been flaked on.  I answered a distress call on the {scrap} beach.........

This is a TP mini that I made for Linda, that lady that got flaked on, and I made it as an extra just because I wanted to.  I felt a bit mean just making the itsy mini but here it is.............

It truly was a teeny weeny mini album.  I followed a tutorial on youtube called micro mini.  It was fun and quick to make and it only measured 2" by 2".  It looked so cute.

I did a swap with my Australian friend Sallyanne.  We participated in 2 swaps on the {scrap} beach and she made me a fall mini and then we got paired up again for a Christmas swap.  Her mini's are the best and so detailed and she puts her heart and soul into what she makes.  We decided to do a 1 on 1 swap just us two and Sallyanne suggested ATC's.  I haven't made ATC's in a long time so I was all over the project.  We each picked 3 themes then made 6 ATC's using all the 6 themes we picked between us.  I finished the ATC's and wondered how I was going to ship them and decided to make a holder and thought about pockets and thought about Kitchen Paper rolls and didn't have enough so I made my own pockets.  Have a look and see what you think................

This is the box that I created.  It almost got thrown into the bin as I made a few mistakes in putting it together but it worked in the end and seems to be holding together and after the glue dried it was pretty sturdy.  I have BIG BUBBLE WRAP to protect it when shipping. Here is whats inside......

This is the other side of the box and it's open so the holders can be taken in and out.  Here's the holder.......

These are the ATC holders and there are 6 in all, 1 in each of the pockets.  Here are the ATC's......

This is one of my themes 'anything putple'

This is one of Sallyanne's themes 'favourite saying'

This is my saying - Footprints

This is one of Sallyanne's themes - mixed media

This is Sallyanne's theme - birds

This was my theme - butterflies

This is the last ATC my theme 'I collect.......'

I had s much fun making the tiny masterpieces and it took me a really long time to finish them as well.  I just kept adding and adding to them I had to be really strict with myself and stop before they got too much.

That is what I have been up to these past few weeks.  Hope you like what I have shared with you.

Lots of Love

December Daily all done............

Hiya All

I have finished my December Daily for my swap on My Scraproom.  My partner is Haley Gilmore.  here are a few pictures to drool over...............

This is the front cover and it opens up to the rest of the 30 days where you can put pictures and recipe cards and big picture, little pictures and all sorts if stuff.  I made 12 tag slider cards, that was the biggest and the longest part of the making of this mini album.

Here is the link for the video http://youtu.be/pU43A-GBRF0

This is a top view of the mini album.

This is my favourite page as it uses some wide ribbon that sparkles.  I cant wait to see what Haley thinks of this mini.  I have had much fun making this mini.

I am working long days now and I have more time to scrap and craft so I am really pleased.
