Ali Craft Monthly Blog Challenge #1

Hiya All

 

I created this little 4x4 mini album for Ali Craft's first Monthly challenge.  You can find their blog here - http://ali-craft.blogspot.co.uk/

 

The base pages are pocket pages made out of white 300gsm card which I have inked.  The paper I used is Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection.  I used the leftovers from an earlier project and had just enough left for this small mini.

Front Page

 

 

Pocket Page and tags

 

 

A corner pocket made from acetate. 2 lines of mesh bling and punched flowers with 2 flat backed pearls and 2 fancy edge tags.

 

 

A flip up page made into a pocket that holds two stamped and distressed tags.The front of the flip up has guipure lace from Wild Orchid Crafts that has been coloured by spectrum noir pens.  I distressed 2 heart cut outs that I got from eBay.  The flowers I punched out using a flower punch and the flat backed pearls I bought at the NEC in Birmingham ages ago.  The stamps I got when I attended a craft workshop at Ali Craft.

 

 

This page holds a double slider card made into a pocket.  There is one tag behind the pocket and one tag in a corner pocket on the front of the double slider.

 

 

This is a fold out held closed by a magnet.  There is a pocket behind it holding a tag.

 

 

This is a swivel page.

 

 

This is another double slider page.  I've got the hang of making them now.

Mini Album for one of my Best Friends!!

Hi All

 

I am up! I have just done the last 3 nights at work and I have finally got my pictures sorted out so I can blog my latest mini album.  I made it for my best friend Richard who is living away. I took photos before I filled it with his pictures.  It's called Random Memories. 

 

I used T!m Holtz Lost and Found paper stack.  I didn't have many sheets left but there was just enough for this mini.  I used black celebrate it paper bags that I bought in Michaels when I went over to America on holiday.

 

Here are some photos of the mini and the tags that I created for it.

 

Front Cover

 

First Page - Double Slider with a microphone charm as a pull

 

First pocket page - room for 2 pictures - 1 behind the tag and 1 on the tag itself.  I used over 30 pictures to fill this little mini.

 

Opposite page.  The metal tags I made from card and sticky back metallic paper drawing on a technique I learned at a craft class by Ali Craft

 

A flip up page with a magnet to keep it shut and a T!m Holtz clock and game spinner.  I also put a picture o the front next to and tucked under the clock.

 

Another flip up page this time with a T!m Holtz corner and another magnet holding it shut.

 

Another pocket page.  I had to hold back on the bling and the flowers as this needed to be a photo heavy and very male themed mini.

A space for a photo and a music note charm in the top left hand corner secured through an eyelet with a jump ring.

 

I love this paper so its a big space for a photo.

I used black ribbon to tie in the tops of the tags.

Here are some big tag pictures.  There are two in each bag and there are six paper bags.

 

The first tag. I put it through my big shot with an embossing folder and the distressed it with vintage photo and stuck some T!m Holtz paper on the back.  I made 12.

I really hope that Richard likes this album.  It was a challenge making an album for a man but I think it turned out OK.  I used hair bands and ribbon for the binding and I really like how it lays when it's open so I will be using it more in the future.

 

I made some alphabet beaded word charms for the spine so it didn't look so naked. I was surprised at how many music related charms I had in my stash.

 

I always take the time to spell check my posts and I always smile to myself when it doesnt recognise the crafting terms that I use.

Album for Sam

Hiya

 

Here are pictures of an album that I made for Sam.  She said she wanted a surprise and I really really hope that she likes it.  It's a paper bag album and uses the Graphic 45 papers from the Secret Garden collection.

 

 

This is the front cover.  Covered in I am Roses flowers, Wild Orchid Craft flowers held together with brads and covered in Stickles.

 

 

Inside the front cover a big pocket with a note from me and some tags.

 

 

 

 

The first page has a fold out pocket that ties at the bottom.  I stamped onto some white flowers and cut up some flowers to make butterflies.  I found some skeleton leaves half white half purple, really pretty.

 

 

 

The first double page spread has pockets and tags.

 

 

 

The next spread has pockets.  They have been stamped with a T!m Holtz stamp that is my favourite.  The pockets hold small tags, also stamped.

It's been forever...........

Hiya Peeps!!

I know its been a long time since I posted anything but I have been under the weather for ages.  I finally have a good amount of time to sit down, without interruption, and get things said.  I have completed a few projects recently but lost my mojo for a bit.  It has finally resurfaced and it's all thanks to a YouTube session watching all my favourite crafters.  I don't know where it went to but it's back!  About time too methinks!!

Here is a swap mini that I made using the Graphic 45 Place In Time paper.  I used the 8x8 and 12x12 pads.  It was made for a fellow crafter in America as a swap.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It took me forever to get these in order.  I had fun making this album.  It seemed to take a long time but I wanted to get it right.  Here is the album that my partner made for me.

 

 

It is beautiful and so different even though we used the same papers.
